What's cute, blonde and bumpy all over?
Memphis!
Yep, I picked him up early at daycare on Wednesday afternoon cuz he had a fever and they also noticed a bit of a splotchy rash on his tummy. They advised me he wouldn't be allowed back until he had a doctor's note stating he wasn't contagious. I thought they were overeacting... to be perfectly honest I assumed the fever and rash were teething related. It's normal for Memphis to run a bit of a fever and get diaper rash when he's teething... but I made a appointment to see our family doctor. Turns out it is likely... roseola!
According to my doctor, it's generally harmless and usually the result of a virus. It is most common in children aged 6 months - 2 years. Apparently is it spread before symptoms occur and there is no way to prevent it. It starts with a fever, followed by a rash... which goes away without medical treatment. My doctor told us to keep him home 1 extra day, and wrote us a note stating it is ''safe'' for Memphis to return to daycare after February 16th.
Poor kid. The rash doesn't itch... but he looks like hell. The rash covers his entire body and has spread a bit to his face. Hopefully it'll be gone by the end of the weekend.
